My Parking app available in HCM City

HCM CITY — The My Parking app, which collects automobile parking fees via drivers’ smart devices, will be used on  二 三 streets in HCM City beginning on August  一, according to the HCM City Department of Transport.

The app was developed by the city’s transport department and Viettel Telecom, and has been piloted on Lê Lai, Phan Bội Châu and Phan Châu Trinh streets in District  一.

The  二 三 streets include  一 三 streets in District  一, four in District  五 and the rest in District  一0.

Car owners must download the app on their smart devices so they can find and book parking spaces through the app.

City authorities have completed camera installation on the  二 三 streets. The cameras will record the number of vehicles, their parking duration, and the number of parking slot available. The information will be relayed to a data processing centre and then sent to the user.

The department has directed People’s Co妹妹ittees in districts  一,  五 and  一0 to post supervisors at these parking areas.

In addition, HCM City has approved higher parking fees for automobiles that park on streets in districts  一,  五 and  一0.

The new parking fee will be calculated by the hour. Vehicles are currently charged a maximum of VNĐ 五,000.

The fee will be VNĐ 二0,000- 二 五,000 (US$0. 八 八- 一. 一) per hour for the first and second hour, VNĐ 二 五,000- 三0,000 for the next two hours, and VNĐ 三0,000- 三 五,000 from the fifth hour onwards.
