 Bike On In To Spokes 'N' Slopes - Source: The Candian Champion, 9/7/04
Once located a couple of blocks apart, Matt and Mark Burger recently decided to move to 89 Ontario St. N., the home of the newly combined Spokes N' Slopes & Boardtopia.
Dad, Matt and Son, Mark are proud to offer personalized customer service and those one of a kind hard to find items. Spokes N' Slopes opened its doors in 1994, after Mark and Matt had spent yet another Friday night on the highway to Markham, to get Mark's bike tuned up. Mark told his dad that Milton needed a bike shop. Shortly after, the store was born.

Spokes N' Slopes started out small and offered everything from racquets to bikes, but thy soon realized that Milton was a cycling and ski town. They decided to concentrate on bikes and skis. Now they carry everything from the $89 kid's bike to the $5000 dual suspension, high end bikes for the extreme rider.

Matt is very proud of his customer service. From the 3 years old's first bike to a high end custom fit road bike or triathlon bike, each type comes with a year of free tune ups. We also offer organized bike rides, mechanic clinics and are involved with many community programs like the Jack Wierzbicki Memorial Ride, Ladies Triathlong Series, Riders Ready BMX, Track 3 Ski programs, bike rodeos for the local schools and is a strong advocate for “Share the Road” cycling safety and awareness.
Boardtopia opened in August '96 and has become the first stop for snow and skateboard shopping in Milton . Mark is highly involved in the promotion of Young Entrepreneurs as he was only 19 when he opened the store. He was one of the original “Milton Skate Park Committee Members” that built the first park at Thompson Arena.

By also offering skis and snowboards and an extremely popular season round ski swap, Spokes N' Slopes and Boardtopia covers every aspect of skiing, from the beginner to high end racers. Bi-weekly in ski seasons, Spokes N' Slopes/Boardtopia takes customers and friends to New York for a day of skiing and fun. For a small fee, your lift ticket, transportation and snacks are covered. All you have to worry about is remembering your skis.
Mark and Matt both have the ability to relate to people of all ages and are constantly giving back to their customers and to their community. That is why this company is so successful, because they follow their motto that each customer is important and is treated as such.
